Yamaha STR-1D731-20-00 Big Bar Engine Guard for Yamaha Roadliner Review

This highway bar was purchased for a 2011 Stratoliner Deluxe. The packing could have been a little better to protect the chrome but other than some very minor scuffing, no real damage. The bar itself fit the motorcycle just like it's designed to do and was no trouble to mount. Chrome is good, mounting is solid and it looks good on the bike. My purpose in obtaining this item is to protect my bike in the case of a zero speed tip over and it looks like it will do that.

2005-2010 Toyota Tacoma GrillCraft Mesh Grille Upper Review

Nice looking simple upgrade for the Tacoma. Although the instructions state that you don't have to cut the factory grill out to use this, it is extremely difficult to mount this with the factory grill in. There are several mounting tabs that require you to drill a small hole then put a screw in. I ended up cutting out the entire factory center grill section and smoothing out the trimmed plastic. The grill is see through so you'll want to relocate your horns and paint the section behind black to get a better look. But it looks great overall. Great addition to any Tacoma.

MTX RE-Q 3-Ch Bass Restoration Module Review

In my car (2009.5 Pontiac G8 GT) the radio and HVAC controls are integrated making aftermarket radio replacement almost impossible. To make matters worse, the radio drops the bass levels as the volume increases to protect the crappy factory speakers. I used a standard LOC to add an amp and sub-woofer and the dropping bass levels were obvious. The Re-Q works by sensing the changes from the head unit and re-adjusting the output to your amplifier. As far as sound processors go this unit does exactly what it is supposed to do without spending hundreds on other sound processors. I'm sure there are reasons to buy the expensive processors, but the Re-Q get's my "Bang for the Buck" award.

Some reviews post that they have engine whine after the installation. Whine in a sound system is a tricky beast to trouble shoot, but this unit introduced absolutely No Alternator Noise. Just remember the basics: Power wires away from rca cables. Solid ground points, as short as possible. USE GOOD CABLES. (IMO)

Also... It takes a while to get the setting right, so don't give up if it is not right at first. The documentation is pretty poor, but good enough if you have done a few car stereo installs.

Great solution to bridge the gap between cheap LOC's and High End Signal Processors when keeping the factory radio in your car.

K&N 57i Generation II Induction Kits are built primarily for European vehicles. They come with K&N's Million Mile Limited Warranty. K&N 57I-6508 Performance Intake Kit Review

I installed the K&N 57i Intake Kit on my 2007 Renault Clio 1.6L, 16 valves, 110 HP. With close to 2 months in the car, I can only give an opinion not supported by hard data. I know that this car is not available in the US, but it is similar to other subcompact 5 door hatchbacks with small engines. Renault and Nissan are managed by the same CEO.

The only other modification that I have in the engine is the use of the Pulstar BE-1 pulse plugs. My first impression of the K&N is a lot more power, I wasn't expecting that punch the first time I drove out of the garage. Second impression was a lot more engine noise, a lot more. I love the sound of engines, but this is a little too much when I go full throttle. I'm considering using Dynamat or any other sound dampening for the firewall and front floor of the car.

The performance is worth 5 stars, but the noise is just a little too much, so I only give it 4 stars.

The instructions are very good, and easy to follow. I did a little change on the lay out of the hose that drives fresh air to the filter, my car doesn't have fog lights (I'm happy with the xenon headlamps), so I cut the front grill where the left light is supposed to be and put there the hose so it can be as far as possible from the radiator.

This car used to have lots of variations while idling (normal on all Clios at Mexico City's altitude) which the K&N improved. It's worth mention that Mexico City is at 2,240 meters above sea level (7,400 feet).

My driving is mostly on city traffic doing a lot of Stop & Go. It takes me 40 minutes to do the 10.5 miles between home and work.
