HitchScan's patented wireless Tow Hitch Parking Sensor System provides up to 7 feet of coverage behind your Truck, SUV, or Van, without the need for drilling holes or complicated wiring. Using your existing 2" or 1 1/4" trailer hitch receiver and wiring, HitchScan automatically scans behind the vehicle when put in reverse, and alerts the driver inside the vehicle with a audible and visual indicator whenever an object is detected. This is the same item as the Ford part #VAG1Z15K859A.

Great product. I have a pick up and with the tailgate up (normal) I can't see anything that is small or short brhind me (like a child or tricycle) for at least twenty feet, maybe more. With this unit installed, it tells me I am approacking an unseen object when I get within about 5-6 feet. The closer I get the louder and faster it beeps at me. A real attention getter!
The 5 minute installation is a breeze if you are pre-wired to pull a trailer as I am. You stick the unit in the hitch and plug it into the 7 pin connector. Then you plug the receiver in your 12/120 volt socket in the cab. That's it! You're done! NO WIRES. It gives one beep when your transmission selector goes thru reverse just to let you know it's working. When beginning to back up it beeps once and then as you approach an object, it beeps more and louder.
Anyone who has a pickup (or other vehicle with restricted rear vision) should own one of these.
If your vehicle is not pre-wired for towing, it can still be accommodated.

Andersen Manufacturing 3411 Rapid Hitch with Plated Steel Combo Ball Review

Received my hitch from amazon as expected. I ordered the hitch with the 6" drop to put on my 2009 F-150. First of all guys make sure you order the correct drop. The 6" was really too much for my f-150 4x4 with factory receiver. I kept the hitch but I let a machinist friend take it down to a 4" drop. Anyway the hitch works flawlessly.....slides up and down easily....flip it over to use the other ball is a snap! Just pull the pin and flip...adjust to correct height... replace the pin and move on! The only reason I gave it a 4 star instead of a 5 is because the ball after towing seems to(best way to describe it) oxidize but his does not effect the hitch's performance just cosmetics! I highly recommend this hitch!
