Canton 2 Quart Accusump Ideal where Mounting Space is Restricted These units are recommended for surge control on Small Block V-8, V-6, and 4 cylinder engines as well as pre-oiling all size engines. Dimensions: This unit is 12" long 4.25" in diameter without valve or gauge. With the gauge installed the length increases 2.5" and the valve installed adds another 3.25". This oil accumulator is an excellent product. If you are concerned with oil starvation, this is an excellent solution.

The issue I take with the accusump, is its suggestion that you need expensive steel-braided hoses with 10AN fittings on the end. It would be one thing if the accumulator came with 10AN fittings, but it comes with 1/2NPT fittings. In-fact, all of their accessories are 1/2NPT except for the Tee fitting. Instead of suggesting 10AN for all parts which leads to several 1/2NPT to 10AN adapters (all of which are further points of failure), they could suggest all 1/2NPT tubes and fittings to reduce the cost, the size of the actual installation, and the number of components in the system.

I installed this with all 1/2NPT fittings and it works perfectly!
