Product Description
AEM Black Face Analog Wideband Air - Fuel Gauge is a high-tech analog version of its popular wideband air - fuel gauge, allowing racers and enthusiasts with analog gauge clusters to match their existing set. This air - fuel gauge unites unsurpassed accuracy, speed and control with an easy to read, analog interface. The AEM wideband also offers a 0-5 volt analog output for use with data loggers and virtually any engine management system, such as the AEM EMS or FIC. The systems feature a Bosch sensor with an accuracy of 0.1 AFR, making it among the fastest and most accurate widebands available. The backlighting is user adjustable to seven colors, (white, blue, green, red, orange, light blue and aqua), allowing users to easily match the wideband gauge to most factory gauge clusters.AEM 30-5130B Black Face Analog Wideband Air - Fuel Gauge Review
I've owned this wideband gauge for just over 6 months at this point. Overall installation was pretty standard for a gauge of this type: have the bung installed in the exhaust and feed the harness down and connect to the sensor and gauge. No external control modules to be concerned with which is a real plus.Pros:
- The gauge's backlight color can be changed to match the most popular gauge colors to match your car.
- The gauge is very accurate. (Compared to the sensor in the DynoJet).
- It responds to A/F changes very quickly - as far as I can tell just as fast as most digital widebands.
- I can monitor relative A/F by the relative position of the needle. I don't actually have to look directly at the gauge to figure out roughly where I'm at out of the corner of my eye.
Cons:
- The stepper motor has some noise to it. This is really only heard when the engine is off however.
Overall I'm very happy with the way this has been performing for me. The price of this gauge compared to all the other widebands out there makes this one of the best bangs for the buck without going into the secondary market.
UPDATE: I'm just under two years into ownership and nothing has changed. The sensor is still working just fine and I've had no issue with the gauge itself. Still a great purchase.
