Summers get hot where I live so I need protection that breathes. This does that better than other jackets I've tried so I consider it a good summer jacket in that respect.

Also, the removable back pad allowed me to toss the sad piece of foam the manufacturer puts in with something better. The Held Pro-Safe CE back protector (size L/XL) fits in the Medium jacket with some wrestling or maybe a little trimming if you want to go that way. I haven't found any CE 2 armor that fits, which is disappointing.

Where this loses points is the sleeves. From buying shirts I know my arms are longer than normal and these sleeves are still a bit long on me; I expect they'll be awkwardly so for the average person. I also find the elbows uncomfortable. The velcro above and below the elbow armor doesn't make that better --only worse. My other jackets have been able to hold the elbow armor in place without needing that little enhancement so I'd rather not have it.
