I purchased this support from Camping world who was $139 and much cheaper then Amazon at the time of purchase. Installation was fairly straight forward and it took about 2 hours with one person. In the awning in position it allows the awning tube up to rest on it and keeps the tube completely level with no sagging. In the Awning out position it adds a center "leg" to hold the center of the awning tube up. It also allows you to control or tighten the tension on the fabric.
