Product Description

Dunlop Roadsmart II Sport Touring Rear Tire Sport-touring riders constitute a very experienced and savvy sector of the motorcycling scene, and they continue to place a premium on multiple tire expectations Outstanding wet-weather performance, linear and responsive handling traits, traction characteristics on par with sport tires and extended tread life - all in one tire. All of these qualities were present in the popular first-generation Roadsmart, and now these virtues have been elevated in the new Roadsmart II to create a higher level of performance for the long-haul crowd. Immediately evident is the new tread pattern on both front and rear Roadsmart II tires. The front tire still incorporates Dunlops readily recognized cosecant-curve groove pattern. The shape and placement of these grooves are newly designed to promote even tire wear up front, and they also stiffen the pattern for reduced tire squirm and extended tire life. Additional grooves also help improve wet-weather performance thanks to a greater sea-to-land ratio that helps promote water dispersion. Dunlop Roadsmart II Sport Touring Rear Tire - 180/55ZR-17/-- Review

First I must be fair and say I am a Dunlop guy through and through. I had Dunlops for 27,000 miles on my last bike and Michelins for ~500 before totaling it.
That said, I just got a "new to me" 1995 FZR1000. I use it for commuting 80 miles a day. So far, this tire is EXCELLENT. I hit the road at 5:30am and even cold the tires grip well. I could feel the previous Bridgestone BT-016's slip in the same corners at slower speeds. They track well on the freeway, even with water grooves, and held their own very well the couple times I got caught in the rain on them. I have a little over 1000 miles on them now and they dont seem to show much wear. I will update how well they last.

Edit (06/12/12): I now have over 6000 miles on the tires and they don't show any major signs of wear. I have no idea how long these tires will last but I would have already killed 1.5 Bridgestones. They grip well enough to allow me to have no "chicken stripes" on my tires and are so predictable that an intersection I go through daily while "just" catching the green (left turn) I can roll on the power while leaned over and spin/slide the tire through the exit. hahaha. LOVE THEM!!

Edit (02/19/13) I have about 17,000 miles on them and still going strong. A little flat in the center for but thats to be expected with that kind of straight up riding. I can't wait for them to wear so I can buy another set.
