I've only had this chain and sprockets on my Yamaha YZF1000R for 1,000 miles, but a good sign is that I haven't had to adjust it yet. Chains sometimes need an early adjustment as they "wear in", but so far this one has been very stable. I'm hoping that performance lasts for thousands of miles!

The sprockets were a perfect fit and are of high-quality...good machining, nice finish.

Note that this kit is a 530 size, which is the standard size for the vast majority of sportbikes out there. The YZF1000R originally came with a 532 chain and sprockets, which have slightly larger-diameter rollers (11.10mm vs. 10.16mm). As a result, this "OEM replacement" kit comes with a 47 tooth rear sprocket instead of the OEM 46 tooth. I have not felt any difference in performance with this sprocket, although increasing the rear sprocket by a few teeth is generally a modification to gain a bit better low-end performance. I have no hesitation recommending the 530 over the 532 in any case. A 532 chain is ridiculously expensive, and because chain manufacturing technology has improved so much since this motorcycle was first manufactured in 1996, a modern 530 x-ring chain like this one is far stronger than the original 532 chains from that era. In fact, in recent years, 1000cc sportbikes such as the Yamaha R1 - far more powerful than my old YZF1000R - come from the manufacturer with 530 chains standard.

The only negative comment I have about this kit - and it's a minor point - is that it didn't come with any grease to pack the master link with. Since these x-ring chains are sealed and internally lubricated with grease at the factory, every other x-ring or o-ring chain I have bought came with a small packet of grease to lubricate the master link pins with before installing the x-rings and pressing/riveting the master link. Fortunately, I had some grease from other chains left over, so I was able to use that. I believe that not greasing the master link internally before assembly might lead to premature wear at that point.
